Material first
Every product starts as a textile study. If a fabric can't survive 200 wash cycles and a Swiss winter, it never reaches a pattern.

Est. 2016 — Zürich
Material-first sports lifestyle equipment, designed, tested and repaired in Zürich.
CARBEX began in a two-room workshop on Werkstrasse with a single question: why does performance apparel look like performance apparel? The answer, we decided, was habit — not necessity.
Ten years on, we still design everything in Zürich. A team of eighteen — pattern cutters, textile engineers, and two former national-level athletes — develop between twenty and thirty products a year. Most never ship. The ones that do are made in family-run factories in Portugal and northern Italy that we visit every quarter.
We don't run seasonal drops or chase colour trends. Products stay in the range until something genuinely better replaces them, and every piece is repairable through our Zürich service counter.

We remove seams, logos and trims until only function remains. What's left is finished to a standard you notice at arm's length.

Lab data sets the baseline. Final decisions are made on the Uetliberg climb, in rain, at 6am, by people who ride and run daily.

Materials
The entire CARBEX range is built from eleven certified textiles. Working with a small palette means we know exactly how each one ages, stretches and recovers — and it lets us hold long-term contracts with mills that recycle their own water.
